This is a terrific drugstore moisturizer for everyday use. Although it appears to be meant primarily for use as a body cream, I use it exclusively as a face moisturizer. It sinks into my skin very easily, is extremely hydrating (more so than the standard CeraVe formula), but not at all gross like some moisturizers can be. It also feels like a "real" moisturizer with positive long-term benefits rather than the kind that's more like a temporary placebo, if that makes sense.

It leaves my skin feeling very soft, though ever so slightly sticky/tacky (but not in a bothersome way). I'm mildly prone to very occasional milia (odd little painless white bumps that are neither pimples nor whiteheads) and I haven't had a recurrance since I started using this several months ago (though it took a product specially formulated for milia from Paula's Choice to deal with one especially stubborn bump that even CeraVe SA couldn't tackle). I can't be 100% certain, but I'm inclined to credit the salicylic acid in this lotion for preventing more milia.

I tend to use at least a couple of pumps in the evening, and a half pump in the morning. It layers well over my serum/retinol products and under my sunscreen, primer and foundation.

San Francisco specific info: It can be a little bit harder to find in store in San Francisco but both City Target and Bed Bath and Beyond usually have it in stock. Here, BB&B is usually the cheapest place and also seems to have the most extensive selection of CeraVe products in-store (stupidly, their website only lists three products from this brand when in fact, the actual store carries pretty much the whole line, along with cheaper house brand copycats!). Walgreen's and CVS are kind of hit or miss and tend to carry a more limited selection of CeraVe stuff.

I originally bought this for my body, as I am always struggling to find something that doesn't irritate my skin. I have oily, but dehydrated acne prone skin on back and shoulders. This bothered the skin on my body. But oddly enough it works very well as a night moisturizer for my face. If I'm stressed or tired, I put a generous amount on my face at night, and wake up with smooth acne-free face!

Great body lotion for very dry sensitive skin! The only reason I give it 4 out of 5 stars is because it only comes in an 8 oz bottle! CeraVe please answer our prayers and make this in a bigger bottle (12oz would be ideal like your Hydrating Cleanser) because now I use it on my body and as an every day facial moisturizer because it is that amazing. I started off using CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, 12 Ounce with this Moisturizing Cream but found the cream was not ideal for my extra dry skin. Keep in mind my face is the type that has to use regular made for body lotion on it and not facial moisturizers. Facial moisturizers always end up being a waste of time and money for me as they are never enough moisture. This moisturizing cream would be perfect for someone with somewhat dry normal skin. I had already been using their Cerave Sa Renewing Skin Lotion, 8 Ounce on my body and decided to give it a try on my face. Glad I did. I saw noticeable results right away. Patches on my face that had been flakey were gone. Even a small blemish on my chin seemed to not be as red and noticeable. I was also glad to see that unlike the moisturizing cream this also absorbs better into the skin to allow me to wear it under liquid foundation! All and all it's a god sent. Now we just need to get CeraVe to make it in a larger bottle for us.

this makes my skin crazy soft! i've only been using it a short time but i'm so impressed. i use it on my body, although i think it could work fine for face too. my skin is not super dry but can get a little rough & bumpy due to kp. this is already helping so much with that & it does moisturize very well without feeling heavy or greasy at all. i'm super lazy w/ body skincare compared to face so it's nice to have a treatment lotion that exfoliates & moisturizes at the same time. great for keeping feet soft too! it has no scent so it's great for everyday. sort of wish it came in bigger bottles but the smaller bottle is probably better for keeping the ingredients fresh. i can see myself using this regularly for a long time.

This is some serious HOLY GRAIL for me...recently my usually oily skin has been dry, red, bumpy, and irritated most likely due to the cold weather. I've also been dealing with breakouts...not fun! I started used this underneath my usual winter night cream (Neutrogena Deep Moisture, awesome stuff!) and my skin has looked AMAZING!! It looks brighter, smoother, less red, and feels so moisturized. Will continue to use this even when all of my skin issues go away. CeraVe never disappoints!!

I used this for about two months and sadly it did nothing for my redness or my acne problems, though it did help with my dry skin problem. Great packaging, with a pump that is really convenient. I hate to give it too low of a review because I know this works well for some people, it just didn't work for me.

I haven't written a review in a long time, but I had to write one for this-it's my holy grail, do-everything product! I have sensitive, combination skin that gets clogged pores easily. I tried Paula's Choice and Neutrogena salicylic acid products, but they irritated my skin and didn't seem to work very well. I already use prescription Differin gel (great stuff!) so I needed something gentle, but the differin wasn't totally fixing the problem. I tried this on half of my face with my usual moisturizer on the other for a month or so. The half with this had a lot less redness and much fewer breakouts and clogged pores. Paula says that the ph is too high on this, but that has not been true for me. I mix this with my differin in my hand and apply both before bed. My skin is also a lot less flaky and dry-probably because this has ceramides.

I also use this as a body lotion because the salicylic acid lets me skip a body scrub, but is still extremely gentle. It knocks out the KP I get on my arms in the winter. Lastly, it's a miracle for my heels. By the third night my feet were soft like a baby's. Because it's a chemical exfoliant it exfoliates much more evenly than the pedegg and foot files I've used in the past. And, I only have to do this one step and night which is a big deal because I don't have time to do anything lately! Also great for dry cuticles and to prevent ingrown hairs. Highly recommend this gentle, multipurpose lotion!

This is a great product for us scaly folks out there. I've always had issues with bumps and ingrown hairs on my legs, and some bumpiness on my arms that doesn't quite qualify as KP, but is grody nonetheless. After applying this all over after showering for a week, I can see a huge difference in my skin. It is smoother than it has ever been, and the number of dry bumps has decreased significantly. A little goes a long way, but because this is a pretty expensive lotion in a very small bottle, I only use it every few days and use a cheaper lotion the rest of the time and still maintain the results.

WOW!!! I cannot believe how amazing this stuff is ON MY FACE! I've been using it about a week now, morning and night. At night I use the Clarisonic Deep Pore, followed by Clinique's Acne Clarifying Lotion with two extra aspirins per ounce (decanted into their 1oz travel size bottle) then AcneFree Sensitive, then this. Sounds involved, but it's less than ten minutes. In the morning, it's rinse with a clean wet washcloth, Clinique's Acne Clarifying (extra aspirin like evening), and this. I'm 64 and work in a hospital where the air is cold and dry year-round, and don't drink as much water as I should, so my skin looked stressed and dehydrated. Now it's plump and fresh and clear. I could see a difference after two days, but wanted to be sure I wasn't going to break out before raving about it. It's a little more expensive than some drugstore moisturizers, but it's working better than anything I've tried at any price. And I don't think my skin has looked or felt this good since before adolescence!!

I saw this in the DS when I went to buy some AmLactin or Eucerin Professional for Extremely Dry Skin. I figured I'd try it to see if it was any better. It's not. I have dry, KP body skin that is itchy in winter and does not shed. This stuff was very thick and just sat in white smears on top of my skin. It took a lot of rubbing to get it to disappear. It also did not dissolve the KP as well as the AmLactin or Eucerin, and my skin did not feel as moisturized or soft. It wasn't terrible, and I can't say it left my skin dry, but it was not great and not worth the price esp. when compared to the AmLactin and the Eucerin. At least it had no fragrance and did not cause any irritation.
