Good color choices, blends well, but for oily skin it seems to rub off too easily and crease in my eye fold.

I have one big issue with this that will prevent me from repurchase: it does not apply well over sunscreen at all. Huge white streaks. If you are willing and able to forgo sunscreen and wear this its a great heavier coverage option especially for dry skin.

TheBalm TimeBalm foundation is a cream to powder foundation housed in a small compact, with no mirror! This is obviously not for combination to oily skin, (you can try just only use a lightweight serum and sunblock before applying) and is more suited to normal to dry. It may cling onto dry patche so make sure you exfoliate well, liquid chemical exfoliants are the best. Not scrubs. The biggest peeve I have is the lack of shades, honestly it starts from a medium to tan, not a light, medium and dark as they say. They need more neutral yellow undertones not pink, beige then full on dark,Convenient, applies well, lack of shades!!!!

Wow, another foundation that I love....and with being a licensed cosmetologist, I get it at cost!!!! Love that especially.....I love the way this foundation applies...use it with a brush, and at first it looks like it will be dry and pasty looking, but then it melts in my skin and looks perfect....was wishing it had more of a slight illuminating finish to it, but found if I mix Josie Maran Illuminizer with my primer, or just put a small amount on my face before applying, it has the most beautiful finish. Like my Stila Illuminating foundation, I get massive compliments on how beautiful my skin looks. Well worth the try.

I want to make this quick because I have so many things I want to write reviews on. So I'll make a pro/con list. I've been testing this out for several months. My skin type is sensitive/acne-prone/combo. Skin color on the yellow side with slight olive undertones. I use Light/Medium for the foundation and I also have the TimeBalm concealer in the same packaging but baby-size, in Medium. Medium is too dark for me. I use Silk Natural's beauty blender-type sponge with it.PROS- The color match is great!! I have the HARDEST time matching foundation colors to my face and this one blends in SO nicely and looks beautiful, has the undertone that I love. Out of the 5 different foundations I've tried in the past months this one came the closest.- Doesn't irritate my EXTREMELY sensitive skin even in the slightest way.- Doesn't dry my face out into a raisin like other foundations. In fact, this was the only foundation I could use before I found a proper moisturizing routine.- Coverage is great. Very buildable. I can use this as both concealer and foundation, which I LOVE. Same coverage as the concealer.- The finish is the texture of my skin, looks amazing especially with a few spritz of George's Aloe Vera spray and cream blush. Dewy and super natural!- Although limited in undertone choices, it is AWESOME that this company offers colors for darker/brown-skinned ladies!- The added vitamins and antioxidants and whatnot makes me feel good about using it on my skin.- You can find it for half off on Hautelook. I got mine for $14. Sales are final, however, on Hautelook 50% offs. Considering how much product is in it, I would guess this is a very good value!- Lasts most of the day on me if I'm very careful not to mess with it.CONS- Packaging attracts dust and whatnot in the foundation. It doesn't bother me too much and I just use a tissue to wipe away things. Feels a little unsanitary though.- My biggest pet peeve of this foundation: it transfers. A lot!- No SPF but I don't mind too much because most companies use chemical sunscreens in their base makeups and my skin can't tolerate them.- Clings to some dry patches if I have any. Not too noticeable but it still bothered me a bit.- Settles into the sides of my nose after a while.. Very annoying as it makes it look obvious that I have foundation on.- Takes more practice and time to use/make it look nice compared to some other foundations, so it's not my first choice when I'm in a rush.- Expensive without sale. I would never spend $28 on this. Or anything really, unless I KNOW it's the holy grail of holy grails.I hope that helped.. I try to be honest as possible in my reviews. Although I'm not going to be purchasing this again just because I have an HG foundation/concealer already, I don't regret buying and trying this out. Really enjoyed it.

I had been wanting to try this product, but full price was a bit steep; however, it was on hautelook.com for 50% off so I bought it in the shade Light. In the pan, the product is very hard and thick. If you swirl your finger around to warm it up, it becomes easy to work with.I wouldn't advise trying to apply this with anything other than a beautyblender. I tested application using both my fingers and a brush, and it doesn't blend or look natural this way. I finally used a damp beautyblender and that was the trick - when applied that way, this product is gorgeous. It comes out so naturally, beautiful coverage, layers very well, and only requires a small amount of the product to be used. The product does accentuate dry skin, so make sure that you've exfoliated and primed (I used Too Faced Primed and Poreless under this) before applying it - if not, it will not go on smoothly. I have combination skin - very oil on forehead/nose/chin, dry on cheeks - and this works very well for me. I applied it at 8am and it's now almost 3pm and my nose is just a tiny bit shiny - it's held up very, very well so far.Really happy with this product and would give a 4/5. Not sure if I would buy it again at full price, but I would definitely buy again at half price.

PROS: Medium buildable coverage. Satin finish.(Finish leans slightly dewy when you first put it on, and then becomes more satin. Okay in my wrinkles. Gets a "good" rating on Paula's Choice beautypedia thingy on their site for good ingredients, etc. Good in my giant pores (see application tips.) Not tested on animals.COLORS: I would think quite pale people would be able to wear the "lighter than light." I'm NC15-20 (neutral, leaning warm/yellow) and "light" was a good match. When I'm more tan, I can mix in just a bit of the light/medium. By the way, Pinterest has great swatches for the foundation and TM version of this.CONS: Harder to find than some brands (see purchasing tips.) Not the best for my wrinkles.APPLICATION TIPS: To make it last a little longer and disguise my pores, I can first pat Monistat chafing gel (or L'oreal Magic Perfecting primer for more mattifying) into my pores and applied lightly on the rest of my face, letting it set a few minutes before applying this product, OR use Covergirl Advanced Radiance Age-Defying powder (which is so kind to my wrinkles) after the TM sets a bit. (If I am going to be out in the heat or dancing, etc., then I use the Monistat chafing gel as a primer AND use the Covergirl Advanced Radiance powder after the TM.) I also like to put just a drop of grapeseed oil (it's a very light oil) mixed into my foundation before applying. (It's a crazy sounding idea, but it truly creates a magical finish that doesn't look greasy. I got the tip from makeup artist Wayne Goss. But do know I'm combination/dry. It would not be good for someone who is oily or wants a true matte finish.) I use Sonia Kashuk's core synthetic blending brush, to apply and blend my foundation (It's amazing for blending.) APPLICATION TIPS: To make it last a little longer and disguise my pores, I can first pat Monistat chafing gel (or L'oreal Magic Perfecting primer for more mattifying) into my pores and applied lightly on the rest of my face, letting it set a few minutes before applying this product, OR use Covergirl Advanced Radiance Age-Defying powder (which is so kind to my wrinkles) after this product sets a bit. (If I am going to be out in the heat or dancing, etc., then I use the Monistat chafing gel as a primer AND use the Covergirl Advanced Radiance powder after the TM or foundation.) I've seen bloggers say they like to use the TM version (Balmshelter) as sort of a primer for this. I can see why that would be lovely.PURCHASING TIPS: You can buy it online at Nordstrom.com, thebalm.com, dermstore.com, blush.com, overstock.com, and amazon. My local Kohl's carry TheBalm products, so I get to try out products using the testers. But I know Nordstrom is great about online returns with free shipping both ways (not sure about thebalm's policies on that.)ALTERNATES: For a SLIGHTLY dewy and barely glowy finish, I also love TheBalm's tinted moisturizer, BalmShelter. It is beautiful in my wrinkles and pores. But the coverage is lighter, of course. (You can see my review of that to see what color choices I go with in the TM version. It's not exactly the same as this one. By the way, Pinterest has some great swatches for both the foundation and TM.) L'oreal Visible Lift Serum Absolute Advanced Age-Reversing Makeup provides a semimatte/satin finish that is pretty good in wrinkles/pores.

This product has many pros and a few cons. The Pros:You get quite a bit of product for the price. Since so little of the product is needed for coverage (and the product is quite pigmented to begin with), you get a great deal in terms of longevity. The coverage is very pigmented so that you do not need to pack on the product to make it worth it.This blends so well without leaving streaks all over your face.Want to save money? Instead of buying the TheBalm Concealer, just buy this product (with the same formula) and now you have yourself a portable, 2-in-1 product. The Cons:This products tends to look greasy quickly, so blotting is required throughout the day.The product can cling to dry spots and exacerbate them. This product can also build up inside your pores and make it look like they are filled with foundation (major pitfall in my opinion). Conclusion: I would actually rate this foundation a 3.5 because I do think that it is more awesome than not.

I love this. I apply it with a foundation brush (not the flat type) and blend till I'm running late. It provides a polished look superior to anything else I've tried. Sometimes I'll do a light application after I've put on the rest of my face in the T-zone just to tighten the look without too much coverage. It travels easily and can be used as a concealer or shadow primer in a pinch. I also got lucky because the fair matches my complexion really well. So if one of the shades is a good match for you, I recommend!

I absolutely love my TimeBalm concealer, so of course, I had to try this! I was a bit leary after reading some of the reviews here, but I purchased anyway and I am not sorry.I can see how it can be too much if applied with a heavy hand, but I use a foundation brush (e.l.f. powder brush w/flat top) with a light touch and minimal product and it's beautiful. I gently tap the tip of the brush in the pan, and that's all I need for my entire face. The finish is flawless and feels light on my skin. The color (medium) looks darker in the pan, but the actual product goes on lighter in color and turns out to be a great color match for me.The price is a bit steep, but when you consider how little product you need with each application, this will go far - so the price is justified in that way. I wrote a similar review of the accompanying concealer - one tiny pot of that lasted me a year! - so, I expect this will be similar. If I had to compare this to another product, I would compare it to MAC's full coverage foundation. That lasted a very, very long time for me and I like it - but this stuff is much better in my opinion. It's a lighter weight and it's better for your skin.I haven't had any issues with breakouts, drying, etc. Love, love, love!
