I've not tried mascara base and just tried this because there's a Missha store in my city and this was only AU$8.90 so I was willing to give it a try and I'm liking it. First try, I could see that it lengthens my eyelashes and I applied my mascara and they really lengthens and volume! Rather nicely I'd say. I think it's due to the fibres in the bristles. It goes on white, and it works better if you leave it to dry for maybe about 1 minute after application, and then apply your mascara.
EDIT it actually kind of weighs my curled lashes a tiny tiny bit, so it doesn't give me the curl I want or hold my curl that long... Yeah, I don't think I'll repurchase because I know there are better mascara bases out there that works better to my liking

Really wished that this would replace my shisiedo eyelash primer :( but it it not that great. I have asian eyelashes that are medium length but very thin. I always use a primer after curling my lashes and this did lengthen them a lot but this primer made my eyelash loose its curl. This primer did not help my eyelashes hold its curl and kind of straightened them out instead. Will not repurchase.

I had high hopes for this product based on the reviews here. When I discovered you can now order it from the MISSHA website, which many of you will be happy to hear, I ordered 2. It is way clumpy, and I can do way better without it. I gave it a week-long chance, and I tried it with Full n Soft and Lash Blast. It was a no go...long, yes, thick, no, clumpy, way yes. In fact, if anyone wants the unopened one, I have no use for it...:)
I read in a magazine to brush your lashes with powder as a primer. That works much better for me.

this mascara base does the job for my lashes. I havent try other brand though.

Maybe I'm not using this right, but the texture is very dry and looked clumpy even with mf masterpiece over it. I'll keep trying, but I really can't see how this improves on what I already get with a few coats of my masterpiece... Will not buy again.

I purchased this product on eBay which ships from Korea. The cost was $10.50 including shipping and it arrived fairly quickly after ordering, less than 5 business days.
I'm Asian and have the typical short, straight lashes so I was really excited to try this product. I curled my lashes, applied a coat of base, then a coat of my usual mascara.
I got the longer lash effect, which is good. However, the base did straighten the curl a little and while the length is nice, the final result was a little too spikey for my taste. Maybe I should try it with different mascaras or maybe I'll apply a coat of mascara, then base, then another coat of mascara in that order after curling to see what the result would be.
I also found the product to be a little dry, but maybe that's for the better because if it's too wet, it may eliminate the curl altogether. Since I've only tried this once, I'm on the fence as to whether or not I'd purchase it again, however I'll definitely give it a second chance.
*UPDATE* So I noticed that if I put on a thin coat of the base instead of trying to goop it on, it works decently, making my lashes a little longer. It does destroy the curl a little, nothing I could do about that. I think I just have to accept that fact that, barring getting eyelash extensions, I fit into the category of Asian women who will never have super thick, long, curly lashes regardless of what "miracle" product I try.

i got this after the reviews i read on MUA from ebay, it was a pretty good price. you can see the fibers on the nicely shaped brush, but it was kind of dry to put on, i may add a little water to see what happens. the results werent good, i didnt get any clumps or spidery lashes and it thickened them but there wasnt any length which i was expecting. as i am quite lucky and any mascara makes my lashes curl i cant really comment on the curling ability other than they werent as curly as my normal mascara makes them.i use diorshow iconic and i get better results. i think if your gonna buy a primer and a mascara the cost would be the same as getting a decent mascara. i have also used the lancome cils booster which got similar results but you get allot more length. if you really need a primer then i would recommend the lancome but as my mascara is superb and i dont need it i wouldnt buy again as i werent impressed.

I wear this, and am now constantly told how lucky I am to have such long eyelashes. It makes any mascara look better, but especially good w/ a dramatic black after a comb thru w/ a lash brush/comb thing. But it feels pretty dry going on--there's no "coated feeling" like w/ mascara and I'm not sure whether that's cuz the stuff I got is dried out or not. But in any case, it is the best of any lash primer I've tried to date.

I LOVE this base. I haven't tried the other popular ones (Shiseido, mac prep + prime) so I can't really help those debating over which one they want to get. However, I can say that this base gives my tiny Asian lashes amazing length, volume and curl. I doesn't get clumpy, and it's really cheap compared to other mascara bases so it's essentially perfection =D .

I picked this product up for $9. This product doesn't do much for volume, but it is good for lengthening. I use a volume mascara so combine with this product, it works wonders for my short Asian lashes. I have Shiseido Mascara base and I find that this one works consistently better with many different mascaras. The Shiseido base works best with Shiseido mascara and mediocre with other brands. Packaging isn't anything amazing, but for 9 dollars and long beautiful lashes - I'm sold.

No regrets! This mascara base dosent take long to dry and really helps to hold the curl and lengthen my lashes. I cant live without it... or rather, my peepers cant. :D

I bought this product based on the reviews and must say that i love it after using for the past few weeks. At AUD8.90 it costs a heap less than many other products out there and is such good value as it actually works! Plus you only need to use a little bit of base for best results as using too much will cause clumps. I used to use UTOWA mascara which I loved for how natural it looked but I had to stop using it when I found it would smudge by the end of the day. But I recently started to use it with the Missha base and it does not smudge anymore. I can wear it from morning to very late at night (over 12 hrs) without worrying about smudging. I think this base would work best with seperating or lenthening mascaras as the product itself already thickens.

This stuff is great! Not too expensive, and it does make a difference in my lashes. They look a LOT longer and fuller when I use this. I've never used a lash primer before, but now I'm hooked!

i heard somewhere that this mascara base is great and i thought why not, it's dirt cheap! i don't know exactly how much but it's under AU$15 so i gave it a try.
i recommend everyone to buy it!! it comes in a tube just like a mascara and you apply it after curling your lashes just like a mascara. it really helps to lengthen and volumize my asian lashes. i don't think it does any curling but that's not what it intends to do.. you'd have to rely on curler or mascara for that.
i took one lippie off because it goes on white which means you have to carefully make sure your mascara covers all of the white or else it looks dodge. also it kind of sticks lashes together, a bit clumpy so make sure you clean up lashes a bit with a small mascara brush or do what i do and use Q tip or fingernails.

Very nice base, especially for the price! Much better than EL Primer. Will definitely buy again! Comes in a nice clean looking white tube.

It did visibly lengthen my lashes, and I like how I can choose the mascara I want to use with this, instead of having it packaged together with the mascara. It's inexpensive, works well, and the packaging is slim and portable.

I hate to be the lone dissenter but I don't think this base is that great. This makes me very sad because I was so excited when I read all the great reviews. I have tried it so many times, in different ways (ie. do one eye at a time, wait for base to dry/apply mascara when base is still wet etc...) and with a few different mascaras but it keeps killing my curl. At first I thought that I was just putting too much on, but it often kills the curl even when I take excess product off the wand and swipe on lashes just once (sometime it's ok on one eye but kills the curl when I do the second eye...ugh). I even tried to re-curl after applying the base, but doing that removes product from the part of the lashes that gets squeezed by the curler and I'm scared that my lashes are going to get pulled out in the process because the base makes my lashes stick to the curler. To me, any extra lengthening or volumizing is useless if it doesn't hold a curl because you can't really see those effects on straight lashes. I might try again just because I'm stubborn, but I can't really justify buying this over the Shiseido's base, when shiseido's base works so beautifully and effortlessly in holding my curl (I don't have time to fuss with my mascara in the mornings ) and I can get lengthening/volumizing from my mascara. Plus, since I'm in Canada, I have to buy it on ebay for about $14 cdn, as opposed to $5 in stores. So, I really can't recommend trying this unless you can get it really cheap and you don't care as much about keeping a curl or having to re-curl.

WOW!!! LOVE IT!!! I bought this because of all the great reviews I read on here, and boy I am sure glad I did. I bought it on Ebay for about $10, since I understand that they only have two stores in the US..? Anyway, this stuff not only makes my lashes ultra long, it also gives them gorgeous volume and makes them thick. It's so strange to think this little wand with white stuff on it can actually alter your lashes so much..I don't get how it works! I have found that it is best to do each set of lashes at a time.

What I do is curl my lashes, apply Missha base to one of my top lashes and then quickly apply my mascara. I think it's best to apply your mascara right away, so as to not let the base dry. I then move on to my next eye's top lashes and apply mascara quickly after, and then do my bottom lashes each separately as well. Just my advice, but I think applying your mascara quickly really helps.

Oh, and I use Diorshow mascara and haven't had a problem with my lashes not curling or not reacting well like I've read a few other people have had trouble with.

I can't believe I haven't written a review for this yet, I love it! I will never buy another tube of overpriced Shiseido mascara base. This stuff works better than Shiseido: it adds a subtle amount of extra volume and holds the curl beautifully! I use this right after using the Shu curler and then apply mascara right away without letting it dry. This works so well, and it washes off cleanly with just face cleanser. I got these (yes I bought a few) on sale too so they were really cheap! This is my favorite primer and I will never stray unless some amazing new one comes out.

After reading all these great reviews- I decided to try this for myself, and I have to say: I LOVE IT!!! I am a mascara junkie and have tried a good deal of primers but gave up on them because I decided that primers really dont do anything for you- but after I tried this- I now refuse to wear mascara without applying this primer first. This makes your lashes thicker and longer and I also love how it holds curl. This is just fabulous baby ; )
