I have extremely oily skin. With this foundation I get shiny after maybe 3 hours, with any other foundation (and I tried a fair few) after 1 hour. Stays on face all day, does not transfer, does not make me break out. Colour looks extremely natural, not caky at all.

I normally dont write many reviews, but this warrants one. It is absolutely fantastic. It covers well, leaves skin nice and matte but not too dry that it sinks into lines etc. It leaves skin flawless, even toned.....and doesnt come off untiil you wash it off. And for what it is, the price is even good compared to other brands some of which are double in price, and nowhere near as good. It hasnt got so many reviews for nothing. Its my HG!

PROS
- Amazing coverage
- Great colour range
- Lasts all day
- Can withstand heat, water, exercise, etc.
CONS
- 'Fake' finish; this doesn't deliver a 'natural look'
- Very expensive
I would recommend this to people who have obvious skin problems and need heavy coverage.

This foundation was the best thing to happen to me. It's full coverage, matte, and stays on all day. With my oily skin, I would expect other foundations to fall off two hours after putting it on. Not this! I usually set it with a powder, and it doesn't budge. My skin looks great in this foundation. My only qualm with this product is the bottle, which I know a lot of people have expressed annoyance over. It's a pretty heavy glass bottle with no pump or anything, so I feel like a lot of the product gets wasted. Other than that, I would fully recommend this foundation.

This product has by far the best staying power ive seen on any foundation. It has amazing coverage without looking cakey when applied right. And has a nice finish. It is a little on the pricey side, but it is a high end brand. However, it is worth ever single penny if you find your shade. They have a wide range of shades, so finding your shade is likely. However, being asian, i have really warm undertones. I am an NC 25 - 30 and the 'sand' shade (2w1) is too light but the 'tawny' is a little too dark. I guess i would be more closer to tawny..i dont know, i have both to mix to get the perfect color. BUT! Even though both shades are warm, they show up still too pink on me. I get this problem with a lot of foundations.. actually i get this with almost all foundations. When i step out into the sun, or into a well lit area, my face will either look too orange or pink. its very frustrating. This would be a HG foundation for me, if it matched my undertone. Unfortunately, it doesnt so ill stick with my coverfx.

I LOVE this foundation! This & Lancome 24hr are my favorites. I'm about an NC 35-40 & use the shades Tawny & Shell Beige. I have never in my life used a foundation with the lasting capabilities that this has. It beats out all other foundations in terms of wear, even the Lancome 24hr which claims to last for 24 hours - DW actually lasts longer on me & it only boosts 15 hours. But please for the sake of your loyal customers Estee Lauder start putting a pump on this foundation, I think people will like it so much more!
TEXTURE:
It's actually a bit runny which I don't have a problem with as it comes out the bottle easily. The smell of this is very distinct, it's not really a bad smell, just a very distinct foundation scent. I apply this with my Sigma f80 brush over primed skin & this foundation applies beautifully (just make sure you prep your skin well before-hand or it won't apply well, I make sure my skin is well-exfoliated before I use this) I work in large sections quickly as it sets pretty fast.
FINISH:
If applied right, this foundation will look really nice, it has a medium-to-full, buildable coverage, I never need to spot conceal. But this foundation I almost find to be a little high-maintenance because if your skin isn't well prepped before-hand this foundation can look a mess (exfoliate, moisturize, prime!) It has a soft-matte finish, just don't over apply or it can get cakey. It also makes your face look a little one-dimensional so I advise contouring & high lighting with this. This foundation can be a little drying so it's best for normal, combo, or oily skin types. It can at times also feel a little heavy on the skin which doesn't bother me but so it's not for people who can't stand the feeling of makeup. This also sets nicely, you don't have to powder.
WEAR:
Hands down longest wearing foundation ever! I can't say it enough because it's true! I've tried so many long wearing foundations & this has beat them all. I went to an all day rave-festival with this on for a straight 18 hours of walking around in high humidity & dancing & this was still on, oily, but still on! It's the only foundation that on my oily skin is truly transfer-resistant. In terms of oil-control, it's very good, I don't look like an oil-slick throughout the day so this always leaves me looking very polished. This also doesn't oxidize on me which most foundations tend to do.
OVERALL:
This is an amazing foundation, I will continue to buy this forever. Long wearing, great coverage, & the shade range is so perfect for me as I have a hard undertone to match (warm leaning towards neutral) & the warm shades for this foundation aren't overly yellow so they match me perfectly. continued >>

I have this in Ivory cream, and I have to say, I DID NOT get this in the right colour. I bought this at the airport and it was not properly tested for me.
It turned out to be a little too pink based for me and thus did not look the least bit naturla as I am pretty yellow based. However, when applied thinly or sheered down with a damp sponge, it ain't that bad.
Pros: it stays, for a very very long time.
- relatively easy to blend
- no overly disturbing scents
- GREAT coverage
Cons: Can get very cakey if applied wrong
- I HATE the packaging
I think it is a great foundation if you have oily skin or requires alot of coverage and need your makeup to stay for hours. Beware when choosing the colours though.
Would not repurchase because I do not need such heavy coverage foundations.

Have been using this product for 5 years and wont be changing anytime soon. Although pricey it is well worth it if you have something to hide. I have a full face of freckles and this product covers those bad boys up! Even though it's thick already I like to apply a second layer of this double wear if I'm going out just to make sure it lasts with all my dancing and even with this double coat it doesn't feel heavy at all.
The shades are very good I choose between 2 shades, pebble and outdoor beige depending on season and sun exposure and the colours mix very well together to blend with my skin tone. I don't recommend applying this product once your makeup is set as it does clog and won't blend over powder so that's why I start off with more.

PROS
-great coverage and durability.
-lasts literally all day with no melting off even around the nose.
-can wear sunglasses and it doesn't even leave marks after taking them off.
-covers everything, freckles, moles, redness, dark circles.
-has a matte finish so appears quite natural.
-smells nice :)
-discounted price on Strawberrynet making it affordable
CONS
-very heavy for those who like light makeup.
-has caused a slight pimple breakout (i am not prone to acne).
-if not rubbed in straight away, dries quickly leaving lines.
-limited range of colours however i use Fresco which replaced my MAC NW20, and looks great.
TIPS
-make sure all makeup from the night before is completely rubbed off before use.
-need to use moisturizer to avoid liquid drying too quickly thus causing cracks and lines.
-use a makeup brush to put on evenly, do not use fingers for this one.
-i have read reviews saying that you can use a MAC pump on the bottle, am yet to try this myself.
-put entire face on all at once and very quickly, if you let any part of your face dry and then apply more, it will definitely leave lines.
Overall, it's coverage and durability is too good to stop using despite the pimple breakup. By far, the best foundation I have ever used.

Turned to Doublewear as a result of breaking out due to what I though was my foundation at the time. After reading up on 'heavy coverage' foundations, I concluded that Estee Lauder was definitely worth trying. I have been extremely disappointed! Firstly, the representative in Debenhams 'colour-matched' me to a shade that appeared extremely dark for my very fair skin (Desert Beige for a Mac NC15 user?!). Upon questioning the match I was assured that it was right and she put it down to the lighting in store. Of course the lighting at home proved no different to the point where I can only actually wear this foundation if I have layers of fake tan on... I also find this to be very heavy and mask-like when on the skin. It dries so quickly that you have to be really fast with application otherwise it looks patchy and awful. It settled in my dry skin areas and formed into creases and cracks by the end of the day, I would definitely not recommend it for anyone with dry skin. The only positive is that it does provide high coverage and concealed all of my blemishes.

Im a NC20 and have red lines, open pores and a few occassional zits. Been using this for a while now and its finishing soon. Whilst it doesnt completely cover the pores nor the zits, it does pretty well with the red capillary lines with two coats.
I would pour the content onto my palm (just a pea-sized amount would do) and mix it with my fingers before gently patting it on my face. I use a BB cream base before this foundation and te result is a naturel air-brushed, radiant and dewy texture. Most people didnt think i had makeup on.
It stays all day long even under hot sun. I dont sweat much to begin with. But i require some blotting touch up to take away some of the shine that accumulates over the day.
The color remains true when i depot into a smaller container for my diving trips too although the makeup probably didnt stay in place after the dives.
I wish it comes in a pump which would be so much more cleaner.
Some of the highly raved liquid foundations i have tried:
Gio Armani, Lauriar Mercier, RMK, Chanel and this is the best Ive came across.

My first post here :0) hello all. I have oily, acne-prone, sensitive skin with a handful of acne scars of course. I have tried a few foundations, MAC Studio Fix, Laura Mercier Mineral Powder Foundation, MUA HD foundation to say the least.
Estee Lauder DW is the best foundation I have ever used, hands down. It lasts all day, though I do have to occasionally blot my oily t-zone. That's a compromise I'm fine with considering it's lasting power-- I love it! My only complaints are the two widely-agreed complaints-- the packaging and the white cast shown in photos.
If only I found a foundation this good without the white cast.

I wasn't crazy about this when I first purchased it. It feels heavy on the skin and a tad sticky. The colour however is great, I am pale with yellow undertones and "bone" which is the lightest shade is probably the best colour match I have found so far. Despite the heavy feeling, it is true what everyone says.. this does not move! Like... at all. I pour the foundation onto the back of my hand before applying and if I don't wash my hand straight away I have a lovely splodge on the back of my hand all day. I apply this by dotting it on my face, then blending with a wet sponge. When I apply it with a wet sponge, it makes it a lot less heavy and sticky and gives a bit more of a "skin-like" appearance. So overall, I do find this a good foundation, it isn't my daily though. One thing I don't understand though is why it doesn't have a pump... WHY ESTEE LAUDER, WHY???

I really don't know what to think about this foundation...except that I may have completely wasted my money on it. I bought it because of the many wonderful reviews on here...but when I got it home, I was not AT ALL thrilled. It is so unbelievably heavy on my face...and cakey as well! Believe me, I'm all for full-coverage foundations, but this was just too much for me. It's so heavy, and it makes my face look completely fake and unnatural. No matter how much I moisturize and apply primer, it makes my dry spots EXTREMELY noticeable...to the point where I have to take off all my makeup and redo it with another foundation because I am so embarrassed of how it looks. So if you have dry skin...I would definitely not even try this product. I've tried applying this multiple ways...with a brush, a sponge, and my fingers, and it all comes out the same.
The only reason why I gave it this amount of lippies is because it really does stay on for a long time...it won't wear off at all. And, if and only if, I mix it with what I have left of my MUF HD foundation, it makes for a good night-out foundation...because it's dark out, the flakiness and heaviness doesn't appear so noticeable. Plus, if you're going for a fun night out, you want your makeup to last. I will never repurchase this foundation ever again...those who found this to be your HG are lucky...I'm still looking for mine. ): But for now, I'll stick with this for my nights out.

Brilliant foundation, fairly full coverage, incredibly long lasting, good shade range, quite a matte finish and a little goes a long way. I've been using it for about 5 years and have since tried the likes of Nars Sheer Glow, Make Up For Ever HD foundation, Revlon Colourstay and Vichy Dermablend all due to their hype but none of those even come close to double wear. It is by far the longest lasting foundation I've ever tried and doesn't transfer. It would benefit from its own pump but the mac pump fits it.
One thing to bear in mind (in my opinion) is that it's not the type of foundation you can keep working at or buffing in for ages... if I do that it cakes, clumps and feels heavy. I'm not saying you can't blend it, I just feel that you're best to do an area at a time (nose, cheeks, chin, forehead) and when you've blended that out don't keep going for the sake of it as it will start to gather and go weird. So if you're one of the people who don't like this foundation and feel that it's heavy or cakey then I'd suggest giving it a go this way to see if it makes a difference.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this foundation. Gives me the flawless complexion I have always dreamed of. I'm using Ivory Beige and it is a tad bit too dark for me but have used the whole bottle up ;) I read another reviewer say something about getting cysts under the skin from this..... I have had those with this product BUT that is because I did not take my makeup off and slept with it on. I have also noticed that when I apply moisturizer and if I don't let it absorb completely and apply the foundation that it gets cakey. I have alot of dark sunspots and this foundation covers them where I look like I have almost perfect skin ;)

I don't get what the hype is about this foundation. It covers well, but on my oily skin it doesn't last longer than other foundations, and it gets cakey as the day goes on. Even if I try to use a little it gets cakey and looks like obvious makeup rather than even skin. It also felt very heavy.

This is my HG full-coverage foundation. I can't really comment on the shade selection as I was matched to Fresco and didn't even look at the others. DW doesn't have quite the lasting power of CS on my oily skin, but the finish of DW is far better on my skin. I apply with my fingers most of the time, using a flat foundation brush when I want heavier coverage. As DW dries fast I like to apply before my moisturiser has quick sunk in.
I really like that DW plays well with other foundations and moisurisers; I can mix this with MUFE HD for a lighter look, or with moisturiser for a barely there bit of coverage.
The only downside of this is that I haven't found a concealor that really works with it. DW concealor is too drying for under my eyes and the LM cakes up. However that the colour match is so good that I can just apply a little more foundation which usually does the trick.
