Yuck!! This stuff smells awful and left my hair greasy by the end of the day. It doesn't even really detangle all that well. $30CAD for this and i didnt really see any real benefits. It probably wasnt even suited for my hair type. I guess i was hoping it would be like Pete Moss which I loved but they discontinued.

I bought this because I love the Dry Remedy Shampoo, but was terribly disappointed. I took it home, used it once, and returned it. I couldn't figure out why it didn't moisturize my hair, and left a film instead. Then I read the ingredients and see that silcone is the SECOND INGREDIENT LISTED! You HAVE to be kidding Aveda. Seriously. And it's the strongest silcone available too, Dimethicone. know most conditioners (and many shampoos even) use silicone in their formulas....but the SECOND one? Yikes. This will never moisturize. I can see why this gets low scores here, and understand why other reviewers mention this leaves a film in the bathtub even. I should have given it lower scores even, but it breaks my heart to rate Aveda so low :( I used to love Sap Moss, and still like the Clove Conditioner and Dry Remedy Shampoo. So I couldn't bring myself to give it lower than 2. I bought B&B Creme Coco Conditioner, it has no silicones so I hope that will work better than this did. continued >>

This line will always have a place in my shower!!! My hair is curly coarse and dry from over processing! The dry remedy shampoo and conditioner maintains my spirals in tip top shape! It is a bit pricey, but you only need a quarter size amount to treat shoulder length hair. I took off one lippy for the scent because I know not everyone can deal With it but i am-based on the results I see which outweigh the scent by a long shot. Def. HG and will repurchase.

The conditioner in this range is nowhere near as good as the treatment masque!

This is not a good product. It leaves buildup in your hair causing your hair to look limp and oily on top and still dry at the ends. It also leaves a thick greasy film on your shower or tub that is very difficult to clean off. And it is very expensive. I would not buy this product again. It seems that Aveda no longer has a product that provides enough moisture for dry fine hair without weighing it down. I miss the Sap Moss conditioner. I am not sure whether or not I will be buying products from Aveda again. Since Este Lauder took over, the quality of their ingredients has gone down and they add butane to their hair products. I found a website called Bear Fruit Hair where you can design your own conditioner with natural oils and herbs. I am going to try this company and see if I can get a product I like.

This is a moisturizing conditioner, appropriate for those with thick, dry hair. I wouldn't use it on fine hair because it can weigh hair down. I discovered that Aveda products no longer work for me. All the herbal essences irritate my scalp.

6.7 oz. for $24. Yes, kind of pricey. I have color-treated, coarse hair which is mostly straight. Regular drugstore cheap stuff simply doesn't work for me. Picked up the small sample of this, rec. by my stylist. A little goes a long way and completely moisturizes my hair and makes it easy to comb. The scent is herbal/earthy and I've grown to love it, especially since fake scents give me migraines and an itchy nose. Aveda uses botanicals and essential oils which really make the difference for me. Definitely will buy again since my hair is responding to the actual moisture and buriti oil in this product.

Oh no...Bought it, used it once and returned it. Just couldn't stand the smell first of all and second of all...left my hair dry feeling and hard to detangle.

HG conditioner ... I adore the Dry Remedy line and find that the shampoo-conditioner-treatments work best on my slightly wavy, thick hair to keep it in fantastic bouncy condition! I use a tbsp sized dollop of conditioner only and the largest size lasts me well over 4 months. The texture is slightly creamy but not gloopy like most conditioners - and washes out well in the shower.
The packaging is average as its quite a heavy plastic bottle thats kept cap-down due to its shape and the flip top cap needs to be sturdier. But for the results the conditioner gives, I've repurchased this repeatedly and will continue to do so. Love it!!

I got this as a sample along with the shampoo and masque and I think this is a good conditioner....well, alright conditioner. Thick and creamy with the Aveda smell. Moisturized my hair well and provided decent slip, but I had to slow down and take extra time to detangle my thick 4a hair. Won't repurchase because there are conditioners that perform as well or better for less.

I thought this was just okay. I'm not sure it lived up to its claims of helping dry hair. In my experience Aveda conditioners are never great.

Second edit to add: I tried redken's extreme conditioner and shampoo. money flushed down loo. I went back and bought more Dry remedy. it really seems to be the only -only- thing that works with my hair. I am irritated about paying that much but I've tried so many other things advised on here and my hair just goes crunchy. This really is my HG. And it must utterly depend on your type of hair.
Edit to add: I switched conditioners just to try something that was for frizzy dry hair Aveda's smoothing range which got rave reviews - no go. My hair dried up and broke off and it didn't matter how much I used. Switch back to this and after one condition, it's back to being silky and soft. It's what my fine, dry, chemically damaged hair needs.
Best conditioner I've ever used for my bleached hair. I use the blue malva conditioner for toning every couple of weeks but due to how white my hair is I need a lot of moisture.
I can't wash my hair more than once a week but everytime my hair gets wet (everyday in the shower/bath) I need to put conditioner on it or it frizzes.
I used aveda damage remedy for a long time (years) and decided to try this one. it works better. I don't even need to put serum in my hair! I have been trying to find conditioners that aren't as expensive that will work as well on my hair other than aveda but none do (though Keratase is good but it's even more expensive). And after I tried this?? I'm not budging from it. It's really good!! My very bleached white hair loves this!

My stylist recommended that I get an intense conditioner because my hair was starting to get dehydrated after my last dye. He said he was out of the L'oreal treatment he usually uses, so he sent me home with Aveda Dry remedy conditioner.
This product was very expensive, in my opinion the smell is quite strong, almost a medicinal smell and it stays in your hair.
on the bright side, yes it did make my hair soft and help with the dryness. If I'm going to spend so much on a tube of conditioner it should at least smell pleasant and include more product.

I really like this conditioner. It really addds moisture to my dry over processed hair. I flat iron my hair and change the color a lot. It really helps to replenish the moisture. I do think it is pricey but I was pleased with the results.

I'm pretty conflicted on whether I'd purchase this again because for the price, I expected more... more vitality to my hair, more shine...something to justify the price. I try to stay cone free, but this does contain them. It does add lots of moisture to my dry wavy hair, and softness, too, but I think all the conditioning ingredients (and no, this is not without some serious chemicals) do build up and I can only use this a few times a week along w/the shampoo. My stylist at the Aveda salon annoys me continually by asking me whether I'm using Aveda or not, in a way that seems as though she feels all of my hair issues are due to the fact that I do not use Aveda only. I use Jessicurl, Giovanni, and Abba sometimes and think maybe some of those are better...but my hair is very capricious and I tend to change it up based on how it's behaving (or not). I do love my Aveda color, though, and have been getting it colored there for a couple of years~and I do like the company~it's just not the end all, be all my stylist thinks it is.

For the expensive price, this product is not worth it. I have used Pantene conditioner and shampoo that works 10x better than this. My stylist convinced me to buy it. After using, my hair felt the same, not much softer or healthier. Also, have to use alot of conditioner bc so thick and absorbs fast. Same for shampoo, have to use alot. Probably because no sulfates. It smells good but that's the only thing I can really say about it.

First off, my mom gave me this because she absolutely hated it. A stylist recommended it to her and she said it actually made her (naturally straight/course) hair feel dryer. In all honesty, it did make her hair look dryer.
So she gave it to me because I said I wanted to try it out too. The smell is nothing great but it's not horrible - it's just a smell. I would not buy the product for that. Anyway, I tried it on my (naturally curly/fine) hair and I felt like it made my hair feel healthier. I have used it with Aveda Smooth Infusion when I blow dry and I think it made my hair feel healthier.
Overall though, I would not pay the high price for it and I will continue to look for something less expensive with good results. The results were good, but I feel like it didn't make my hair 'amazing'.

I haven't bought any Aveda products since they stopped Sap Moss as I didn't think anything would compare. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find this works just as well on my dry, over-processed hair.
It has a nice scent to it, and although it's hydrating doesn't weigh my hair down, which a lot of products do.
I will buy this again, next time my hair needs some serious TLC

As with all Aveda products, this is really expensive and just not worth the money. I much prefer Redken.
I always used this conditioner in conjunction with the partner shampoo and my hair was no better for it than if I used a supermarket brand.
