Maybe it's just me? I received a sample with my purchase through Sephora and was anxious to try this as soon as my package arrived. I slathered this...gel gunk onto my face that can eerily resemble a slighter softer version of jam. The smell is so overwhelming, that I felt like I was going to throw up. SERIOUSLY. The smell is so bad that I started to think maybe I received a bad sample? Nevertheless, this mask stays on your face for 10 minutes, and it never dries. It stays wet the entire time. I will admit, it did make my skin look very cleansed and supple. But would I continue to use this mask with that rancid smell? Hell to the NO.

I really like this mask. I have been using it once a week for about 10 weeks. It has made my skin brighter. My skin also feels smoother and my pores are less noticeable. My skin also never gets irritated from this. I would definitely purchase this again.

This mask is good. I like the way my skin looks after, and it doesn't irritate my skin. The only downside is that the smell can be so overpowering that it gives me a headache.

> I do not understand why it is in the 'treatments' section as it is a wash off mask, you are not supposed to leave it on your face for longer than 10 minutes?
Anyway, let's review:
I gave up the grainy exfoliants and moved to less abrasive ones as my skin got drier and drier. I have been using this product at least once a week for last half a year (so even though initially it is a splurge it last really long time!) and tonight was the last pump that I have managed to squeeze out of the packaging.
I think it exfoliates though I could not see ANY difference in the size of my pores and their clearness (especially the ones on my nose and chin) which was a big disappointment.
I have purchased Dermalogica's Gentle Cream Exfoliant (thanks to Lisa Eldridge's recommendation on her YT channel) and REN lost this race - Dermalogica exfoliates visibly, my pores are cleaner and smaller. I am happy to finish the REN'S mask bottle and I will not repurchase.
I understand that the companies want to cater for sensitive skins but if an exfoliant is so delicate that to see any result one has to use a scrub before puting the mask on to get rid of flaky skin (I have it sometimes on my nose) there is something wrong with the product imho.
On a plus side it did not indeed make my skin red or more sensitive, I just think that there are better non-abrasive exfoliants out there. continued >>

my general experience with masks is that they either don't seem to do much at all, or they are so strong that they irritate my somewhat sensitive skin. i find that this mask is a happy medium. i like the pineapple & honey scent, & don't mind the sticky gel-like consistancy that many people dislike. i was initially hoping for a dramatic resurfacing result, & after removing the mask i find my skin a bit tighter & glowier, so if you're looking for results comparable to a chemical peel, this may not be the product for you. if you enjoy the tingly, burning sensation of an in-office treatment, unless your skin is super-sensitive, you may be dissapointed. i feel a mild tingle, but nothing uncomfortable. if my skin feels extra gross because i've been skimping on exfoliating or even the occasional falling asleep with make-up on, i can rely on this product to get me back to squeaky clean skin, but i don't think it dramatically improves your skin over time. for this purpose, i would also recommend their f10 enzymatic mask, which is a better choice for those with sensitive skin. continued >>

I got a bunch of travel-sized tubes on eBay to try it out, since $55 seemed like a lot for a mask.
I have to say, I really like it! It's not as strong as I had hoped (I often leave it on for at least 20 minutes to get the full effect), but it does a pretty good job. It doesn't quite get everything, but it definitely does loosen a lot of the built-up gunk and dead skin cells. I wash thoroughly with my clarisonic brush afterwards to completely remove all of the gunk that the mas loosens up. I may move up to something slightly stronger later, but all in all I think this mask is great. It smells nice and feels nice.
Do be aware, though, that this mask doesn't peel off, nor does it dry - you just rinse it off when you're done.

I really like this mask. It's gentle so it never feels like it's burning or stinging my skin, though I admit I do not have sensitive skin. This mask is enjoyable to use, the consistency reminds me of jam, smells like some kind of fruit jam too, and I like that this never completely dries and becomes that hard, flaky, and uncomfortable kind of mask. The results are noticeable too. After using my skin looks clearer and feels super soft to the touch. My skin definitely looks more healthy after this mask, but the cost is the one thing that makes me hesitate. $55 is a lot for me to spend on a mask or treatment that one only uses a couple times a week at most. Personally I think I am going to try to find a cheaper alternative, but if you have the money to spare I think you should definitely look into this mask for it's awesome gentle renewing properties.

I never thought a mask can do that much. After one use i could tell the big difference. It made my skin glow and dewy. It's a little bit pricey but when it comes to skin care I think it's totally worth it. Plus it's paraben, synthetic fragrance free all that good stuff. I love it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!

I love this peel. The first time I used it I wasn't impressed because after I wiped it off, my skin didn't look any different to me. But I went to bed and the next morning my skin looked great! It was much clearer and even looking, and it definitely was a lot smoother. My skin is kind of sensitive and it didn't irritate it at all. I use it about once every two weeks and I think it's key to keeping my skin looking good. And it smells delicious- like sweet orange and citrus fruits. Yum! All the Ren products I've tried so far are awesome, and this one is definitely one my favorites.

This product is just ok, the results are very slight. Peter Thoman Roth Peel Pads blow it out of the water, you notice a much bigger difference and there is a lot more product for your money. I will not repurchase this Ren Peel.

This smells amazing, like oranges and pineapple. As a mask it's just okay, but I do like that it's paraben-free. If it improves my skin tone like it claims it's very subtle.

I became interested in Ren products when my husband brought me home some from a trip to Europe where they are offered in hotels (!). I have dry skin with hyperpigmentation, and I am always looking for a good peel to prep my skin for either Retin-A or products to reduce discoloration.
I prepped with the Clarisonic, then applied the Ren masque while my skin was still damp. It smells heavily of citrus and is the consistency of honey. After just a few minutes, I felt a tingling that indicated the product was working to exfoliate. I would say it is almost as strong as the Mychelle fruit masques. I left it on my face and neck for 10 minutes, then ran some more of it over my eye area, lips, and ears for an additional 10. I would not suggest more than this, as the peel can irritate beyond that. After rinsing, my skin was very dry. I treated with a 0.050% Retinoid and followed with a moisturizer. My skin feels tight, clear, and is slightly pink. It feels similar to a 20% peel from the dermatologist's office.
All in all, I liked this masque/peel and would purchase a full size.

I just tried the mask and it's a thumbs up from me.
My skin has just broken out in blind pimples (totally my fault for eating so much refined sugar this week) and needed a pick me up. The usual mud mask didn't feel like the right thing to do so I tried this.
It has a creamy consistency to it and it smells like papaya. I love the tropical-ness to it, it reminds me of Hawaii which is where I got it from.
My skin is clearer and brighter. The clogged pores on my nose have disappeared and I can see that the pimples are that little bit closer to resolving.
It is gentle - similar to the action of Dermalogica Daily Microexfoliant but just a little deeper. It didn't sting (bonus!) on or afterwards when I put on my vitamin C serum and moisturiser.
I can see myself using this product once a week in the coming summer months just to keep on top of the congestion in my skin that usually accompanies warmer weather.

I've bought and used three of these now and finally come to the conclusion that unless I'm feeling particularly flush I won't be repurchasing. The mask is very gentle and I have noticed some improvement in my skin texture although it does not really tackle dry patches. I have seen no improvement in skin tone/discolouration. I like the fact REN products are paraben free and not tested on animals and I would buy REN products again but I have definitely found better masks than this to exfoliate.

It's not a miracle worker, but it gives me a glow. I don't use it for peel-like results, just to brighten things up on a weekly basis. It does that, without stinging, so I'm happy. The pineapple scent is refreshing without being cloying, my skin doesn't get dry and flaky afterward, and it's free from all kinds of nasty chemicals so that's a bonus.

I've been using it once a week since July and at first I was really excited about it because it made my skin look smoother for 2 days and didn't break me out. After all these months I have to admit that overall it hasn't improved my skin at all. It's just the same as before I started using this.

Really gentle peel on my sensitive skin. Im looking to smooth out the texture of my skin, get a glow, and even my skin tone. Ive only used it a few times but this makes my skin look good. The glow came the next morning and my skin look a lot smoother. I wouldn't repurchase because the results aren't that impressive for the price and the effect doesn't last long.

I got this when I bought the combination skin package in a travel size or what it's called, to try i out.
It has a strong scent, but I guess I could get past that, if the product worked. But I couldn't really feel any difference in my skin after using it..

I got a sample tube of this in the recent Barney's gift bag. While I can vouch for the fact that you will see a difference, I have to admit I didn't use it exactly right the first time. Let this serve as a warning - it says 10 minutes...believe it! I got distracted doing something around my house and when I washed it off I had red, tight skin and then peeled for a couple of days. Not bad - just annoying. Totally my fault. A week later, I used it correctly and watched my time and got the same glowing results everyone has. Love this and plan on buying when my sample runs out.

I've been using this once a week for a month. The first few times I used it at night just in case it made my face red. I noticed really smooth skin after and in the morning. The other day I used it in the morning before putting on my makeup. That is when I decided that it does work because I noticed a glow and my skin felt and looked firmer....and it lasted..skin felt firmer the 2nd day also. I haven't tried many different masks so I probably would try other things just for fun but I am very pleased with this mask.
