I put that I would re-purchase this, but it is only for the gold shadow. I really love the gold and use it in several different bright color combinations. It looks very lovely with the orange from the HiP Flare duo. It's vibrant, easy to blend, and highly pigmented. Unfortunately, the purple on the other side of this duo is practically useless. There is barely any pigment so you have to pack it on if you want any color, and even then, the color is flat and not very pretty. In addition, the packaging on the L'Oreal HiP eyeshadow duos is atrocious - It's way too big because they put those terrible little brushes in a compartment below the shadow. I wish I could purchase the gold from this duo separately!

I obtained this and another Bright Eyeshadow Duo in Brazen at the same time and was intrigued to have compared the two. The textures not just between duos but among all four colors I was able to swatch were very different! I found that Flamboyant applied a little more easily than Brazen, and the color pay-off was far superior to that of Brazen.
However, I noticed that the purple color, like both the colors in Brazen, was a little stiff compared to its complement gold color, and took some work to get onto an applicator. It took even more effort to actually apply it, since it is very poor at building up in intensity or spreading in evenness. The pigment concentration seems very patchy. It did help to apply this wet.
On the other hand, the gold color was actually rather splendid and is the only reason I am keeping this for now. It is a rather rare bright gold (at least for drugstore brand), and it comes off the pan with ease. It also applies evenly and is buildable. It is what I imagined HiP eyeshadows would be like, but unfortunately it is the only one that has pleased, whereas all the other colors I have tried so far were nothing short of disappointment. Sister brand Maybelline's eyeshadows (especially their Eye Studio Color Plush quads) are more intense than these.

Why do so many drugstore brands fail at making good quality matte shadows? The Purple in this duo = Fail. Its chalky with little to no colour payoff. The gold is pretty but too yellow and kind of loud for my taste. It is very silky and pigmented though. Not the best duo this line has to offer. I'd say pass on this one.

Ugh, the major con in this product is that I bought three different ones! LOL. The gold color of this duo is okay but the purple is just sad - almost zero pigmentation whatsoever, even with a primer and base. To top it off, it looks so cakey on the eye and fades almost immediately. I say, shelve out the extra money to buy quality eyeshadows or better yet, buy NYX. For the same price, you get a much better product.

Like pretty much everyone else who has reviewed it, I like the gold and hate the purple. I bought it a while ago for my senior prom because my dress was yellow and I was using purple accents, so yellow and purple on my eyes seemed like a great idea! And actually, my makeup on the day turned out pretty well, mostly because the gold color really is quite nice and easy to work with. The purple, on the other hand, is like chalk. I don't know how I managed to make myself look nice with it for prom; probably because I only used a tiny bit in the crease. I still like the gold for a fun color; it goes really nicely with my warm fair skin. Using a finger for application right over the lid gives a pretty sparkle. There's definitely a better gold out there, though, I just haven't bothered to look.

The yellow half is vibrant and pigmented and the purple half is the complete opposite. I can't even describe how awful it is. It's a pain to just get the product on a brush, much less on your eyes. It shows up thin and chalky.

Like all l'oreal HIp e/s the color combinations are weird, but they work. they focus a lot on colors that are opposites on the color wheel or compliment each other in some way which you haven't thought of before. so when I say this combo, judging by how much I crave for that perfect purple, I bought it and was mega excited about coming home and trying it.
One shade is a lemony-gold shimmery and very pigmented. The other is a matte purple which is awfully not pigmented. I love the color but i cannot get any payoff out of it on my NC30 skin. I noticed that with some drugstore brands you get different results with the same product in different pans, but that much different? dunno. To swatch it on my figure I has to rub it 10 times! something just ain't right with that purple, I am telling ya, although it may have just been with mine. I use the gold to pair it with NARS Strada and the result is W*O*W so the gold is a winner for me. The purple color gets a 1/5 and therefore, an average rating of 3 lippies.

Oh god this stuff is crap! Why oh why do people insist on spending their cash on these little things is completely beyond me. The purple is hard to get out of the pan and applies so thinly that it looks like something a second grader might wear out of her free barbie makeup kit that came free with the doll. The gold is slightly better in pigmentation but has absolutely no lasting power. Both of them seem to fade off the eye as soon as they're applied and when you do finally manage to get enough on your eye you can't wear it with any high quality color because the others will completely obscure and dwarf these because there's zero pop to them. Utter. Crap. This one is going straight in the trash - I wouldn't even give it to my dearest frenemy

I'm very torn on this particular duo. The yellow/gold is very beautiful, highly pigmented, applies and blends well, and is versatile. The purple, on the other hand, has very little pigment and is hard to apply and blend. I would repurchase for the gold, but I have only used the purple once and won't ever use it again even if I buy another of this duo.
And, as always, the packaging on the L'Oreal HiP duos is terrible and the brushes they give you are useless.

the gold/yellow is so pretty an pimented. its staying power isn't that great so it tends to crease after a while. the purple sucks and is completely useless. its chalky and is an ugly color because of the chalky-nes. i would definitely repurchase for the yellow, the purple not so much.

This product is a toss overall. The gold color is great and I would give it a 4.5, however, the purple is just awful. I can't use the purple at all because that color on my skin looks like I have a bruise (and on my eyes - you can imagine it just looks like I got punched). It may look nice on someone else with a different skin color, but it's definitely not for me. So as much as I like the gold color, I don't think I would purchase this again since I can always just buy a gold from another brand.

The gold is nice, not a whole lot of staying power though. The purple is dirty looking. It makes me look like my boyfriend beat me up. Both colors are not that pigmented. I bought some cheap eye shadows once, I think they were a buck a palette, and they did a similar job. It's sad because L'Oreal usually delivers. Not this time though. Too expensive to not perform.

These L'Oreal shadow duos have always confused me; I have three, and they all follow the same pattern of the left side of the palette being beautiful., rich and pigmented, while the right side is chalky, not very pigmented and hard to apply. This shadow duo is no different. The golden shadow is gorgeous and lasts all day, while the purple is just kind of blah. I'd give this a 3.5 if I could.

I really like this duo. The gold is very shimmery and pretty. The purple is matte and not as rich. My favorite way to wear it is actually the way Scarlett Johannson wore it in the ad, which is the gold all over the lid and the purple lined under the eye. It's unusual and pretty. I haven't experimented with blending them together, but another review said that doesn't go well.
It's hard for me to judge whether I'd repurchase again, because I have so much makeup that I'll never run out. However, I think I would buy this again if it were cheap.

I purchased this, along with other duos, on sale at Walgreens. Thank goodness they were on sale because I will never repurchase. I loved the colors in the package but when I got them home I was so dissapointed. They staying power, even with a primer, isn't worth what I paid for them. I find them hard to work with and almost completely unblendable. It's horrible too because they have some beautiful duos but, like others, I know if I purchase again, they won't be worth it.

So pretty in the packaging, so blah on my eyelids.
Even with a primer the purple looked washed out and gross. It does that thing dollar store makeup does, where it all turns the same dirty, smudgy colour when you try to blend it.
The gold is decent but I wouldn't have purchased it on its own.
The packaging is nice.
I have found the HIP duos to be really hit or miss. I don't think I have used any of them more than a couple times. It's sad. The pretty colours call out to me when I walk past in the store but I know I'm going to be disappointed.

I bought this shadow for about $5 or $6 at London Drugs on sale, and I was interested in it mostly for the pigment of the gold. When I bought it, I was so excited to try out the shades both alone and in conjunction with other eyeshadows. The gold colour is soooo gorgeous. It is a very soft shadow, with lots of pigment and shimmer. Because it is so soft, it is easily blendable and works well with my UDPP. The purple is not one of my favourite colours, because it is not as soft or easy to blend or as pigmented as the gold shade. However, it works fairly well with other shades when creating all-over eye looks. If you want a gold eyeshadow, this will definitely be one of your best bets!

Like a lot of other people i love the gold shade but i am not crazy about the purple which is not very pigmented so i use the gold with the purple from the Wicked duo wich is deeper and works better with the gold. But overall is great and i will buy it again.

To be honest, I bought this solely for the purple, and it was a disappointment. The purple side of this duo doesn't work for me at all. On the other hand, the gold is really pigmented and goes on smoothly, which really surprised me. I wish the purple side worked better though.

I pulled this out again to play with and fell in love with it. I use the golden side on the inner corner to mid lid, then do use the purple side to put down a bit of colour. I use MAC Stars 'n Rockets over that with MAC Fig. 1 in the crease to give it depth. I have tried the same without using the purple side of this duo and the effect has not been as pretty, even though by itself the purple is a very disappointing colour! It makes for a very bold and pretty eye!
