I've never tried the original Lolita Lempicka fragrance, but I do have L and it's the most delicious and wonderful perfume of my young life! XD
Sadly I can't say the same for this fragrance. It just doesn't sit right on me. It's a very dark, moody, intense fragrance, full of liquorice, and it was sickeningly sweet on me, like a poison. The only redeeming quality is the packaging. I think mine may have been a limited edition because the bottle has a silver metal filigree over the top of the glass, with a pretty silver flower and diamantes and stuff, as well as the pretty purple color itself. Prettiest bottle I've ever seen in a perfume.

I have been using LL perfumes for many years now (the original one and L during summers), but until this one I was not too crazy about the other special series (I thought each was just a pale shadow of the original scent).
However, this one I like even more then the original one! More sensual, deeper, sweeter, but at the same time more sublime. Paradoxically, this scent is more intense, but still somehow more discreet. You have to try it to understand what I mean:)
The bottle is gorgeous, but I had to give it 4 lippies because it is absolutely too fragile to be carries around. Luckily, the perfume is very long lasting.
I am a huuuuge fan.

This is for Midnight Noir, RIS a sample. While I hate the original LL, I even had a bottle cause I loved the bottle, but sold it. Midnight Noir is much nicer. Lots of leather, and you will know why the NOIR is in the name. It lasts, but I'd not wear it. Not bad at all, a very different one for me. Actually didn't realize it was Lempicka or I likely wouldn't have tried it. LOL

Lolita Lempicka is my favorite perfume. I have a wide ranging collection of fragrances but I always come back to it. Last night, I received this version of LL as a gift for my birthday. And wow. Just wow. I sprayed it and my boyfriend told me immediately how good it smelled. He couldn't stop smelling my arm. I wore it again today, overwhelmed by its charm and beauty. It really is a deeply sensual and comforting scent. I cannot get enough of it and would buy 100 more bottles. It lasts, too.

I agree with the other reviewers on this - it does smell very much like the original version with a little tiny twist to make it more sensual.
Its a really lovely fragrance for any age I would say. Its super feminine with little hints of some muskiness....nothing off putting. A really surprising scent with good staying power which can be used all year round without being out of place.

The original Lolita has been my HG for 3 years and as soon as I bought the Midnight version it took over (at least for the cooler weather). If you like the original you WILL love this too. They are the same scent really, but Midnight has got a more sensual, earthy quality to it than the original and I would say less sillage too. I don't find it as sweet or strong either. Some say it's just for evening, but I wore this every day and night straight through the fall/winter. Now I'm back to the original Lolita for the spring. Love it!

I really love the original Lolita Lempicka fragrance and Midnight is no exception. However I do have to say that I barely notice any difference at all between them - perhaps it is slightly more sensuous smelling than the original, but that's really just splitting hairs in trying to find a difference. So I still get the powdery licorice vanilla scent that I really don't find changes very much from when I first put it on. It lasts well, but is relatively sweet and is not a fragrance that I would wear in warm weather as it would just be too cloying. Gorgeous bottle, gorgeous fragrance!

Today i walked into the perfume boutique to test L by Lolita Lempicka on my skin for the second time this week, trying to decide if it is the ChocoVanillaMusk scent im on the hunt for. And there they had this LE midnight i have been seeing such great raves for online, sitting beside L. I got very exited and were thinking that i had found a real treasure!!! I asked the SA to mist some of it on a paperstrip first so i could sniff it, and im so glad i didnt just go ahead and tried on my skin straight away. Now its two hours ago, and the scent have not changed its nature to something i could even think about wearing. To me, this smell is sickening and just gross. But i will give it two lippies for the beautiful bottle, it is very very pretty. And of course, it is a fact that peoples noses loves different smells so im not chocked about this beeing someone elses HG :-)

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Smells like original, but stronger, sweeter, richer...and LASTS ALL NIGHT. Scored the big 2.5oz bottle as a tester for 33 dollars online - what a steal! I love wearing this out in evenings. Perfect, perfect, just perfect!

I love this fragrance, I got a decant from a fellow MUA'er, and I just fell in love. I will not try to describe this fragrance, as I am sure others have and could do it much better than me. I will say I this scent makes me feel special, unique, and kinda sexy. I will definitely buy this again.

Midnight is like a deeper, darker version of the Lolita Lempicka EDP. Seems like a lot of reviewers find this more powerful than the original LL, but I don't; in fact the original actually seems to have more sillage. To me, this is just deeper and maybe a bit earthier. I wouldn't say I prefer it to LL -- I definitely love it equally. It has the same licorice/anise accord as LL, but here it seems complimented by something slightly spicy (perhaps the ivy?) that is not as distinct in LL. It's a great scent to wear at night (not surprisingly, I suppose!) and in the winter (I find all of LL's scents too overpowering in hot weather). I have this in the "roller pen" version, and I love the midnight blue/deep purple glass. (Would love to have the apple bottle too!) As with Lolita Lempicka, I would say this is probably a love it or hate it scent.

So great. I prefer this deeper scent to the regular Lolita Lempicka. It's wonderful though. A bit hard to find throughout the year. Pops up at Sephora and Nordstroms from time to time.

I just LOVE this stuff!!!! I have been obsessed with the original Lolita since 2002, and finally just ordered a bottle of the Midnight. All I can say is: TRUE OBSESSION.
This scent is fanatastic for those fans of the original Lolita Lempicka : it's a stronger, sexier, more sensual version. I love that it lasts longer & is more potent than the original as well. This scent will just make you feel sexy. It says that is "recommended for evening wear", but hey, I find nothing wrong with wearing an evening fragrance in the daytime if you're in the mood to spice things up a bit, lol.
Also, the bottle is amazing! I love the deep purple color of the classic apple-shaped bottle, and the silver glitter adds a nice touch.
All I can say is that this perfume is AMAZING - too bad it's a limited edition because I truly <3 this stuff! continued >>

I am a huge fan of Lolita perfumes, and Midnight and L de Lolita tie for me. When I am in a sweet, flirtatious mood i go for L but if I am feeling more sultry, mysterious, or am just plain seductive i reach for Midnight. It is a beautiful and unique fragrance similar to the original, however I like midnight so much better. The licorice/anise comes out stronger in the midnight, which really works with my skin and I feel kind of balances out the sweetness. This would be appropriate for a woman of any age, just dont be surprised when you are being showered with compliments and inquiries! The only place I wouldn't wear this to is probably work in an office, although i will admit that i am guilty of wearing this to class when i know a hot guy will be there.

The bottle is absolutely beautiful. The fragrance is terribly, sweet and cloying on me. It was so sticky-sweet that I had to hop in the shower to remove every trace of it.
I'm not a fan of sweet fragrances anyway, but this just did not mix my body chemistry at all.

Everyone raves about Lolita Lempicka's gorgeous bottles...and I can't deny their merit. Beautiful and ornate, suggestive of fairytales and romance. And they've released with multiple limited edition bottles, for the original and the midnight, just in case you were bored. My bottle of Midnight does have bits of chunky silver glitter on it, which I could do without. But otherwise, the deep purple bottle is most definitely enticing. The notes according to Sephora are Aniseed, Ivy, Myrrh, Amarena, Violet, Jasmine, Tonka Bean, Musk, Vetiver, Benzoin, Vanilla, Licorice flower nector(whatever that is). On me, the prominant notes vary, at times midnight translates as very powdery, musky, soapy and clean, at other times it's syrupy and sweet, smelling of anise, candied violets, and a touch of cherry. At times I can also detect the medicinal note which is not my favorite but is interesting and not as unpleasant as it sounds. I can almost detect the vanilla and tonka but they aren't front and center, at least on my skin. This is very similiar to the original, but on me, the licorice/anise note comes out on my skin more in midnight, and there is less fruitiness. It could be easy to overdo, you really only need one spritz to get enough sillage. An interesting thing to note is that I do not like the taste of licorice or anise, but I like this nonetheless, the blend of anise with the other notes makes for an intersting fragrance, one that even licorice haters may appreciate.

I actually like Midnight better than the original scent- it's a bit more distinguishable. It smells like a bolder version of the original and, like the bottle, it darker and more mysterious.

The original bottle is beautifully crafted and I certainly didn't think that it could possibly get any prettier but then I glimpsed Lolita Lempicka Midnight. The deep purple, glittering apple shaped bottle is absolutely alluring, it's certainly the prettiest bottle that sits on my dresser. Midnight is a sensuous blend of aniseed, ivy, myrrh, iris, amarena, violet, jasmine, tonka bean, musk, vetiver, and vanilla. It's a very intense but perfect interpretation of the original Lolita Lempicka fragrance. Licorice flower provides Midnight with it's dark, strong, sexy character which I simply adore.

It just came in the mail, and I love it. I agree with the poster who said it smells very 'purple'. The top is sweet yet mysterious, e.g. not "cotton-candy sweet" but "baked fruits and cinnamon with dark maple syrup" sweet. The licorice/anise is faint on me, just the mildest kick in the background (my skin is known to kill some notes). Then, the heart smells earthy. Like a dirty forest nymph. I adore it. The drydown is a soft, pleasant, powdery musk.

I love the fact that my skin handles "dirty"-smelling notes really well. Patchouli, for example, actually works on me. If you can't say the same, you might not like this fragrance.

As much as I like this stuff, I cannot give it the five lippies that I think it deserves, for two reasons:

1) If I concentrate, I find that I can interpret the smell the same way the other poster did: cough syrup, Vicks Vaporub and dirt. It wouldn't have occured to me if she hadn't posted that, but she did, and now the taint is there.

2) It failed boyfriend approval. He says it smells weird, like bleach. continued >>
