im not a huge fan of champagne or sparkling wine, but its my understanding that brut indicates a dry taste. this smells incredibly sweet, like sticky grape soda and cough syrup, so ill have to take off major points for not smelling anything like its namesake and being generally unpleasant.
if i was given an unlabeled vial, i wouldnt be able to place the scent as any sort of sparkling wine. if it had to name it, id call it eau de dimetapp. its cheap and fake smelling. continued >>

I love white wine but, try as I might, I can't detect any of it in this scent. I can smell fruit and it's pleasant, but not like Champagne Brut.

GRAPE SODA! nothing else to say. not bad but not great

This actually smells more like grape juice, but it's a happy, yummy scent and lasts well on my somewhat dry skin.

This fragrance is not what comes to mind when I think of champagne. It smells a lot like grape soda and something I can't quite put my finger on...I'm not a big fan of grape scents or flavors, so I didn't like this one very much. But if you like grape, this might be your thing.

Not having experienced of grape Dimetap to compare, I can say this is grape soda. Not what I was hoping for and a big disappointment from Demeter with respect to other truly on-the-mark scents. If you are looking for a scent that actually gives a brut champagne impression, try Voluspa Crisp Champagne room mist. Probably not safe for the skin but probably would be wearable as a little spray on your garments.

The reviewer below nails it when saying that this smells like grape Dimetap. Exactly. Not the greatest fragrance of all time, but this one is pleasant, fruity, girly and very wearable.

Oh gosh! I just adore this!! It smells just like grape soda... While on my hunt for the rare, discontinued Demeter Grape Soda I was recommended by ebay seller awhummer to try the Champagne Brut. Well now I have it and I absolutely love it!! Although it doesn't necessarily smell like champagne I can smell a hint of champagne. What a wonderful reminder of the memory of my brother's wedding where I was sipping on the free-flowing champagne the whole day! :)

The top notes smell remarkably like Hubba Bubba chewing gum, grape flavour. When it settled on me, it ended up like a cross between disinfectant and mint tea. Don't buy it before trying it out.

Demeter should have named this one "Grape Dimetapp" because that's exactly what it smells like. Out of curiousity, I ordered this on Ebay and was sorely disappointed. I expected more of a tart, dry smell but instead got a noseful of fruity fizziness. I'm not saying it's a bad smelling PMU, and I'm sure a lot of people like it. It just wasn't what I imagined it smelling like and it's definitely not made for a guy.
